This white rose I bought today for 20p because I was thinking about the Seto love story that made me a writer in the first place. On her first date with Seto he brings her a single white rose, and, being the over analytical nutjob that I am, I delved into the matter and figured it must have something to do with his love of the blue eyes white dragon. Anywho the second this photograph was taken, it sparked such a strong, passionate epiphany in my heart instantly. The splashes of sapphire blue (the colour representing not Seto's blue eyed dragon as most would expect, but no, the colour of those eyes which show so much pain from his past... more than he nor anyone should ever have to endure) are a mixture of a teeny bit of blue food coloring with water, and are completely uncharted or controllable, symbolising Seto's past and the traumas he was thrown at and had to overcome all at the same time and all on his own merit. The rose is the most delicate flower, and laying down on it's side is a luxury as most people want them to always stand tall in their perfect glass vase. Seto never gets the chance to rest. He can never show his vulnerability, his need to be comforted. But behind closed doors, during the precious few hours when he can lay down and remove the mask he uses to hide his true, fragile and still very young spirit (people often forget how young he really is, as does he), the one that depends on love and comfort... only his bedroom mirrors and the glare from Mokuba's and his true love's eyes can portray the real Seto Kaiba. The bruises and imperfections of the rose can only be seen up close. Seto is hiding the scars of his past from people by keeping them at a distance. His mask tricks people into thinking he's cold and noone would in their right mind want to get close to him, but the truth is that he's afraid of letting them get close, of putting himself out there. That his imperfections will be played upon and in the long run, those he cares about will suffer... The hexagonal effect of the glass has each little shape holding it's own image, it's own angle, it's own perspective. Seto has so many responsibilities, emotions piling up in secret from the rest of the world, so many sides to him that he needs to keep at bay whilst in the public eye. The hexagons appear squashed, like Seto's emotions, which he always has to push down and out and never gets to fully experience. Seto is a white rose - pure, delicate, and innocent. Whilst admired in daylight by those who look at him and see strength and independance... at night, when all those from the outside world who watch him but never try to delve deeper into who he is, who would never accept any less than the perfect image he is expected to keep... when the lights go out, and he is safe in his sanctuary called 'home', he can curl up and let out his emotions. He doesn't have to stand up straight, he can lay his head and finally rest... this angelic rose...

The reflection was a complete accident - I was just trying to photograph the bottom petal and the stain on the white shelf (no depth to it - was just gonna be a pretty little picture about nothing), and the glass was insignificant as I thought the blue liquid in the glass would show, but instead, a beautiful reflection... one of those accidental moments in life when something beautiful not only occurs, but is captured on camera. They say the camera can never capture the true beauty you experience in real life... what if the camera is the only way to access the hidden beauty? No modifications have been made to this image in order to keep the beauty natural, like Seto.

I shortened this one down (viewing pixels wise) because this needs to be embraced as a whole, like both sides to Seto need to be embraced. However the detail in this is crucial. I've gone for the biggest I could go for so it doesn't go bigger than the screen, but I still think the detail is scrutinized - which I hate. It was such a difficult decision for me to make =( Please download to see the full size and capture every detail. Every hitch, every imperfection, every glow... every memory, every experience, every emotion...

Once again this is 100% completely my own work and I hope you love it!

He is not evil! His dark past fed his anger and he was forced 2 grow up at an early age bcoz he had to raise Mokuba. He's different and punished for it by society - they judge him withought knowing what he's gone through! But he's sweet and cares for his brother and will risk anything to make him happy! He's seen as an outcast but if people took the time to try to get to know him, they'd see the wonderful man behind the cold mask.
-Joanna Kaiba - he just wants to be loved - who doesn't?

The rose in general is quite beautiful, however the random water seems to take away from its beauty, however I know the water is there to reflect Kaiba. The paragraph below was repetitive and leangthy, but you got your idea across. True, there is a deep meaning behind Seto Kaiba, yet any other fangirl will tell you otherwise. It's good to see someone take one object and relate it to him, even though it seemed a little corny. I mean, true, that's what Kaiba is to the point of view of a fangirl, but not to everyone. You have opened my eyes to another reason why Kaiba is like who he is and I respect that, it's a true mystery of why he is like he is... That Question is left to a non-Kaiba-fangirl I'm afraid.

yep I think I've told ya =P but without seeing the series you don't know him. most people still don't. Only the extremely analytical can get past his mask and see the person he's hiding, the child inside him.

Wow...just wow... You're absolutely right. This picture is amazing and it portrays how Seto is perfectly. I really love your explanation of it. It's always refreshing to see others who believe as I do about Seto. There's just so much more to him than what you typically see, the side only Mokuba and Seto's lover see. Yugi and his posse never get to see inside so they couldn't know the real Seto Kaiba. Poor Seto...
:iconjoeygirl1420:
Thankyou so much for taking the time to read my description. Most who watch the show just pay no attention to all the flashbacks, all the tiny moments showing his weakness for his brother... they want Yugi to win (eeew >.> *shudder*) and are too lazy to look past the mask to try to find the truth. Yami always rants on and on about *mock voice* how we should all accept everyone for who they are and bring out the good inside them and see them for who they are before judging them and-- SHUT THE FUCK UP! For all the preaching they do, they leave out the character with the most back story. Yeah yeah so Yami is some 5000 year old spirit n blablabla, but he wasn't alive all those years! And he never suffered AND had a baby to care for as well as himself. He had advisors and servants, yet everyone goes "Ooh poor Pharaoh, such a hard life..." SETO AND MOKUBA WERE ALONE AS PRACTICALLY INFANTS!!!! And without Seto, the *mock voice* all mighty Pharaoh Xd would have no plot to his life - Seto gave him the push in the first place to even duel and bring out Atem for the first time. I hate people who are too arrogant to look at the facts and see the truth behind them... (I've only been awake for 4 minutes and i'm only awake because my FUCKTARD radio that's been broken for 3 years has decided over the last 3 days to turn itself on at random times in the morning, full blast, turn to radio setting (I NEVER USED - always CDs. Never. Ever. EVER!!!!), FM station - BLAST!!!!!! And it's all the way across the room in my cupboard >.>''';) And I am soo tired that I can't even smile - ya know that kind of tired?)
